Strand Associates Inc. has announced it has hired local contractor Chappell Hill Construction of Brenham to build the full-service engineering firm’s new office building at 1906 Niebuhr Street.

“We are very excited to work with Chappell Hill Construction on this project, which is important to our firm’s growth in Texas and shows our commitment to the City of Brenham,” said Strand Associates president and CEO Phil Budde. “Once the building is completed, we will have the potential to double the number of employees in our Brenham office and increase our impact in the greater Brenham area.”

Strand Associates is expecting to occupy its new 12,750 square-foot office building this December.

“As a general contractor that has been working in Washington County on building projects since 1959, we feel proud and privileged to be working on the new Strand Associates office project,” said Ray Andrejczak, project manager at Chappell Hill Construction.

In addition, BRW Architects was chosen as lead architect on the project. Jennifer Bettiol, senior associate in the firm’s College Station office, led the design of the facility.

“BRW has an extensive portfolio of experience designing outstanding facilities and we benefited from the firm’s knowledge,” said Roddy Williams, director of operations at the Brenham office for Strand Associates. “We are confident Chappell Hill Construction will deliver on BRW’s design and we will benefit from their work for decades to come.”

Established in 1946, Strand Associates has 11 offices nationwide with more than 400 employees and has completed projects in 48 states in the United States. In 2017, Strand ranked 178 out of the top 500 design firms in the U.S. by Engineering News-Record.
